Feeling Fine Friday #2

Scout finds the grass in Illinois is nice.

"Awwwww!"

"I have a good life."

Joey remains on full alert.
Sunset over the lake.
We are getting use to our campground.  The "pigman" has left us alone.  Mama waved at him yesterday and he ignored us.  There are not many people here but the campground is full of their campers.  We think they will probably be back this weekend and the place will be active with golf carts again.

Dad has been riding the train to work.  He says it is fine. He will probably try driving his car next week.   Mama hasn't taken the car this week. Dad leaves here at 4:40 a.m. and I don't think she feels like taking him to the station.

We found out yesterday that another one of our credit cards was stolen.  Chase shutdown the card before anything happened, we think.  Someone tried to use our card at Walmart.com and exited when they were asked security questions.  That caused a red flag to go up for Chase.  A new card is being sent to Grandma's house.  Mama had just updated her PayPal account with the card and then the Wal-Mart thing happened.  We do not know if there is a connection.  It could have been stolen at a restaurant or when Dad bought his train tickets or maybe even here.  We will never know.  We have a few more credit cards, so we will be fine.

The folks ate at Heroes West Grill on Sunday.  It's a sports bar.  Mama was really in the mood for a Ribeye and it was the closet place.  She ordered a Ribeye with a baked potato and salad. Dad ordered a Pan Fried Perch with mash potatoes and a salad. They had breaded mushrooms as an appetizer.

The mushrooms were good.  They were served with a marinara dipping sauce, but Mama used her Ranch dressing instead.  The Ribeye was good, but not great. She would not have it again.  It was $16.95, so not a bad price. The salad was really good.

Dad said his perch was good. It had some tiny bones, but he said that was to be expected.

The food came out really fast.  They had not finished their mushrooms when the salad came out and they only had a few bites of the salad when their dinners came out.  They prefer when they have a little more time between dishes.

The waitress was nice, but she became really slow when it came time to pay.  It took a while to get the bill and even longer for her to take the payment.   The place was good, but they probably will not visit it again as there are a lot of other places to try.

  1. I like to see that Scout has grass to collapse onto. Any fun places to go for the weekend? I'll look forward to hearing about it.

  2. Sounds like an adventure. Maybe not always good, but then, most adventures involve danger and risk, even if it's it's the perch. :)

  3. So tell me, what exactly is a dinner salad? (rather than a side salad) Is it a course on its own served between the starter and main course? Scout looks very happy on that grass! Deccy x

  5. Maybe the Grouchy Camp Park guy eats at Dick's Last Resort a little too much! ;)

Glad you are feeling fine. We are getting ready to go camping here for the weekend so we will be in our camper too! OK, just for a couple of days as it is a state park here in Minnesots, but still at least we will be able to get away from for a couple of days!

Declan - a dinner salad is one that is proportioned to eat as your dinner. (usually) Often comes with meat or fish on it, if you so like. It is just a much bigger salad than a side salad.

  7. Scout really knows how to enjoy herself. What's to worry about when Joey is on patrol? Such bad luck with stolen credit cards. What a pain.

  9. Scout, I like the grass in Illinois, too!

You should tell your mom and dad to try the Weber Grill restaurant before they leave Chicago. It's not cheap, but Mom and Dad loved the food! It's right in town, though.

I'm so excited that we'll be in Chicago tomorrow!
