Jimmy Carter Library and Museum

While we were staying at Stone Mountain, the folks visited the Jimmy Carter Library/Museum.  They are wanting to visit all the presidential libraries.  This was the 6th library that they have visited.

Mom said the museum was nice and she learned a lot about the family.  She thought Amy was an only child, but she has three brothers.  They are older than Amy and didn't live in the White House.

Rosalynn was very active in being a close advisor to Jimmy while he was the President.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter have been extremely busy helping people since leaving the White House.

Mom said the neat thing about visiting the Presidential Libraries is that you learn about the President as a person.

Replica of what Rosalynn and Jimmy wore on their wedding day.

A replica of what Jimmy's Oval Office looked like.

Margaret Truman gave Jimmy "The Buck Stops Here" for his desk.

The Presidents signed their photo and the baseball in the lower part of the photo.

This is a nut cracker.

This painting is very interesting in person.  It is made up of buildings, flags, ships, buildings, vehicles, etc.

Medals of Freedom given to The Carters in 1999.

Noble Peace Prize was given to Jimmy in 2002
After visiting the museum, the folks returned to the campground for more fun and walks with us.

We showed you the picture of our campground site yesterday, but they also have sites that are not in the woods as much.  Some of the sites have decks and propane BBQ grills.  It is a nice place.

  1. Joey, I grew up in Georgia and Followed the Carter's career, and really admired Rosalyn more than Jimmy. She was not a fake ( empty luggage carried by Jimmy)! I think seeing their library would educate me more and maybe balance my opinion!

  2. That must have been so interesting to visit the Jimmy Carter museum and see all his things. I always remember him from tv with the connection to peanuts.
