Billy Bob's Texas

The folks visited Fort Worth on Saturday.  Dad wanted to visit Billy Bob's which is the "world's largest honky-tonk".  There is a $2 cover charge any time that you visit.  Mama didn't know what to expect, but she thought it would have a nice restaurant.  BOL!  It is a honky-tonk, Mama.

After you pay your cover charge, you enter a hallway with hand prints. The hand prints belong to celebrities.  Most of the hand prints are from country singers, but there are some rock stars as well.

The hand print that has all the red lipstick is that of Blake Shelton.  The only thing Mama could think of was all the germs.  BOL!
There is a small restaurant area and that area has hamburger buns signed by stars.

Mama ordered a chicken fried steak sandwich and fries.  The sandwich came plain, no gravy.  It was good though.

The fried pickles were really good.   She kept asking Dad what kind of pickles he thought they were because they were so good.

Dad's BBQ looked really messy.  He said the turkey was good.

This was the restaurant.

A view of Billy Bob's

Willie Nelson's guitar.  He has played there a lot.

Wow!  Blake Shelton has really changed.

Charlie Daniel's fiddle.

Rick Springfield's guitar.  Mama used to really like him.

Brett Michael's guitar.

A bear that was just there. BOL!

This is made from cow hide.

Bull riding ring.  Yep, it is right there in the honky-tonk.

Mama said it was interesting to see Billy Bob's.  She wouldn't want to be there at night when everyone is partying.  The place smelled of smoke when it was empty, so when it is full of people it is probably really bad.  Yep, it is one of the few places where people are still allowed to smoke.

A Day At The Stockyards In Fort Worth

The folks drove to Fort Worth to visit the Stockyards.  I thought that sounded like a strange way to spend the day, but Mama said there would be a lot to do there.  Actually, Mama was quite surprised by the number of people that were there.

There is a maze that people can walk through.  It was on The Amazing Race.

A cattle drive is held each day at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Yep, they come right down the street.

After the cattle drive, the Legends of Texas put on a gunfight.  Mama said the gunshots were so loud that it really hurt her hears.  It is held in an enclosed area and it echoed.

This guy looked and sounded like John Wayne.

The bad guys.

There are tons of shops and museums. Mama enjoyed looking around. They hold rodeos here on the weekend.   The folks are planning another trip soon because there is so much more to do there.

The folks also visited Billy Bob's which is the "World's Largest Honky-Tonk". We will tell you about that later in the week.

What Do You Mean It Is Not For Me?

Mama has been busy loom knitting all week.  I didn't know what she was making but it kept getting bigger and bigger and then she stuffed it.  A NEW TOY FOR ME!

What do you mean that it is not for me?  It looks like a toy.  Mama, I know that I have toys that have looked like this.  If you put a face on it and put some squeakers in it, it is the perfect toy.  :::sigh::: I was told it is not for me and I am not supposed to touch it.  I have a secret....when Mama goes into the bathroom, I touch it. :::snicker:::

What the heck is it?

It is a "Draft Buster".  Mama had been putting blankets in front of the couch to keep the air from coming in but that looked really messy and we kind of needed the blankets. A light bulb went off in her head and she decided she could loom knit one.  She has to make a second one for the other couch.  It will be her project for next week.

We are still confused on our "LIKE" button. We know that some people can see it.  We are wondering if people who can see it have Facebook accounts.  Mama worked on it yesterday and a friend who couldn't see it at first can now see it and she is on Facebook.  We don't know. We just thought it would be a fun thing to add to our blog, but it seems to have problems.  BOL!

We sat outside yesterday, but it was windy. The leaves kept hitting us and then dust started flying.  We decided it wasn't worth it.  We sat outside in the evening but Mama said she was being bitten by bugs, so we came in after about a half hour.  We did sleep in this morning until 6:30, so Mama was really happy with us.

Do You Like Us?

We have a lot of visitors every day, but we don't get a lot of comments.  Mama understands that because she reads blogs and doesn't always comment.  I told Mama it would be nice if we could add a "LIKE" button to our blog and people could just "LIKE" us if they don't feel like leaving a comment.  She did a little research and found us a "LIKE" button.  See it?  It is right under "Do You Like Us?"

Yesterday, we sat outside and really enjoyed the nice weather.  We plan to do more of that today.  Mama is happy because I didn't wake her up in the middle of the night to go out. She said the fresh air must have made me tired.

We really like our new laptop, but we are still working out some issues.  Mama can't get the pictures from her phone to load onto the computer.  It is very frustrating as there is a cute photo of me squirrel watching yesterday.  The phone and the computer refuse to connect to each other.  We think she needs to get a new phone.  BOL!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!  The folks don't really celebrate.  Mama told Dad she would like to BBQ tonight but needed help getting the grill out.  He told her they would just go out tonight.  I think they are going to Steak N Shake because it will be late by the time Dad gets home and most restaurants will be packed.
