It's My Gotcha Day!!!!

That's right! Today is my 2nd Gotcha Day. Two years ago today, I left Tulsa, OK for my new life in Missouri. I didn't know what the heck was going on. My foster Mom gave me a bath the night before and said I was starting a new life. She loaded me and three other greys in her car and we drove and drove. She took us to Springfield, MO and then some other people picked us up. Foster Mom kissed me good-bye and told me to be good and she cried. I got in the car with these other people and I rode to St. Louis. We stopped in a parking lot and that's where I met my new Mama, Daddy and big brother, Jack. I was scared, but before I knew it I was loaded in their car and arrived at my new home. I'm so glad that part of my life is over. It's scary being put in a new environment. My new Mama wanted to call me Katie. I didn't like the name, so eventually she decided to call me my given name, Scout. Mama said she wanted a petite girly girl. Have you seen me? I am not petite. If I was a human, I would probably be 5'10. I like to jump in mud puddles. I'm not a prissy girl.

It took Mama and me a while to adjust to each other. She wanted me to go outside constantly to do my business and I just don't need to do that. She has figured out that I will tell her when it's necessary and I don't need to be asked constantly.

Mama says I am so different from Jack. Yes, I am different. I guess she didn't think that greyhounds had their own unique personality and thank goodness for that. She wouldn't want two Jacks running around. Jack gets so excited that he has to do zoomies. I prefer to chatter my teeth to show excitement.

I'm so glad that Mama and Daddy adopted me. I love living here and I love having my own people. My foster Mom told my Mama that all I wanted was someone to love me and that is so true. Mama says she loves me each night while she is massaging me. Life is good!

Well, That Didn't Work!

Our new approach to watching the Rams did not work. We did not wear our Rams' gear and they still lost. We even took baths and had our beds washed thinking a change is what they needed. Nope! They have lost 13 games in a row. :::sigh:::

New Approach To The Rams

Scout and I are taking a new approach to watching the Rams' games. We are not going to put our Rams "gear" on. It seems to be making them play bad. We haven't worn any Cardinals "gear" and they are they are in the playoffs. Do you think it will work?

Mama and Daddy shocked us today. They gave us BATHS! I had to go first and Scout was so worried about me. She sat outside the closed bathroom door and cried for me. I wanted to come in and watch her bath, but Daddy said that wasn't fair since she didn't get to watch me.

Okay, the Rams are on. Wish us luck. LOL

The Calendar Is Here!

We received the calendar that my picture is in. It is the wall calendar. Last year, I was in the desk calendar. The picture that was chosen is one of Mama's favorite. It was taken last year when I was playing in the snow.

The picture is a small one. We had hoped it would be the big one, but then we wouldn't have anything to shoot for next year.

Are you ready to see it?

Do you see me? I'm at bottom on the right. Here's a close up of me.

Mama says the red background really makes my picture "pop". It scared me when she said that, but she said it was a good thing.

Thanks for looking!

Move Over Scout, I'm a Star, Too!

Mama received her Celebrating Greyhounds Magazine today. She flipped through it and told me that I wasn't in it. She said "it's a good thing, Jack because look at how torn up this magazine is. It must have gotten caught in a postal machine." Tonight, she was looking through the magazine and screamed, "JACK, YOU ARE IN THE MAGAZINE!"

Yep, that's right, I'm in the magazine. (Happy Dancing) Here Scout and I are looking at it. Scoutie got it all wet with her nose. Sisters!

Until Scout's calendar arrives, I'm the star.

Football is back! Update - Rams are loosing BIG time!

We have our Ram's gear on and we are anxiously awaiting kickoff at 3 p.m. cst. We love football Sundays because it's also "Family Day" at our house!!!

Go Rams!!!

Update: Rams are loosing big time. We thought we scored once, but there were too many Rams on the field.

Here I am after we scored, but then they took it away from us.

Here's another shot of me. It's not flattering though. I look really loooong.

Why do I get so excited about football? I always end up feeling sick while watching. Rams really haven't been good since I've lived here. Mama said they won the Super Bowl in 2000, but I wasn't even born then.

That's it 28-0. Scout and I refuse to watch any more today. We aren't watching next week either. Well, if we do it will be in the camper. Yep, we will be camping.

At least we had a nice family day.

I'm So Embarrassed!

Yesterday, I was laying on the bed. I was roaching like this only my eyes were closed because I was sleeping.

The next thing I knew, I was on the floor. Mama said I made a big thump. Scout ran over to see if I was okay. I told her to get away from me and that I meant to do that. Mama started laughing. I gave Mama a big stink-eye. It's bad enough when you do something embarrassing, but it's really bad when you get comments from the peanut gallery.

Relaxing On The Porch

Our weather has been beautiful here. It has been in the 60's and 70's. Mama told me this morning that we were trying an experiment. She said she was going to let me lay on the front porch while she worked and if it wasn't too much of a distraction for her, it might become a regular activity for me.

See how happy I am. I'm just enjoying my morning. I have to wear my harness and a cable. The cable is tied to the bench. Mama opened her office window and I could hear her talking on the phone, so I knew she was close by. The picture is taken from Mama's office, so you can tell she is right there watching me. There is a door right behind me and Mama left it open at first so that I could come in quickly if I needed to, but then Mama said the lizards that run on the porch could get in the house and that would be scary. She also didn't want the hummingbirds to get in. There sure are a lot of rules around here about what can and cannot get in our house.

Sassy, the feral cat, walked by. I ignored her. Mama is so happy that I have a low prey drive.

When I came back inside, Scout had to check me out. She was worried about me being outside by myself. I told her that Mama was watching me the whole time so it's not like I was really by myself. Scout is such a woman. She worries about everything.
