It's Collar Crazy Around Here

Mama thought it would be funny to take a photo of us wearing all the collars that she has made us so far. Yeah, it's really funny Mama. At least she is not crocheting scarves any more.

The snow came and went

This is it? This is what we waited all week for, an inch of snow? What a let down!
No hamsters, no gooey butter cake and no bowling balls!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit today. Jack and I have haven't seen them since cookie baking day in December. It was fun having visitors.

Mama made us new collars today!

How many collars does she think we need?

Another Snow Update

This snow prediction is getting very dangerous here. Do you know what they said tonight? FOX 2 in St. Louis said that the snowflakes would be....

BOWLING BALL SIZE SNOWFLAKES!!!!

We are not making this stuff up. If we were making this up, we would make up things that Mama had cute graphics for. LOL

The snow is supposed to happen after 2 a.m. so we will probably miss it and not be able to report the true size...unfortunately. One of the weather men is known for saying "it happened just like I told you" even when it didn't, so it will be interesting to hear what he has to say tomorrow. He predicted the hamster size.

Gooey Butter Cake Sized Snowflakes?

The weather man tonight on KMOV in St. Louis said that we could see Gooey Butter Cake sized snowflakes tomorrow night. I am not kidding you! Mama and Daddy just looked at each other and laughed. We have gooey butter cake when we camp and let me tell you, it's bigger than a hamster. Scout and I definitely need helmets if this happens. Luckily, it's supposed to happen while we are sleeping, but I may just have to stay up for this snow event. It sounds like it could be unbelievable.

Mama tried to make a picture to show you what it will look like with Scout standing outside in the snow with Gooey Butter Cake sized snowflakes coming down around her, but she didn't have a graphic for a gooey butter cake, so she used a wedding cake. It's close, but has too many layers. She also couldn't find a motorcycle helmet, so she just put a hat and a scarf on Scoutie. It doesn't provide her with much protection from those falling gooey butter cakes, but she tried.

Stay tuned for more updates on our weather!

Hamster Size Snowflakes

The weather man is predicting hamster size snowflakes tomorrow night. Yikes!

I think Mama better buy us some helmets!

Snow?

I just heard on the news that we may have snow Saturday night. How can that be? We were just camping last weekend. This weather stuff better get fixed by next weekend because we have another camping trip planned then.

Mama went into the city today and bought more fabric for collars. She said she would work on one tonight, but she's sitting on the couch watching a movie instead.

Mama Made Us Collars

Mama is learning to make collars for us. Scout and I had our doubts when she told us she was going to try and make us one. You should have seen the first two. Yikes!

She made one for Scout last week and it turned out nice.

Last night, she surprised me with my very own Rams' collar. I was so excited. I danced all over the house which made it hard for her to get my photo.

Mama said she will head to the city later this week and see what other fun fabric she can find for us. She wants to find something really special for camping.

Home from Camping!

Sorry that I haven't updated my blog. I've been camping with my family. Mama could only get online while we were driving around and she said it was hard to do anything because the Jeep was bouncing around on the back roads.

Scout and I had a great time. We got wet in the river even though Mama said we shouldn't. We walked on trails. We met lots of nice people. We met a Great Dane. He was huge. He scared us because he was so big. We ate people food. Yummy! We had Frosty Paws at night. What more could a dog ask for?

Here we are eating Frosty Paws.

This is Scout roaching on our bed.

Here I am on the couch.

Mama says we are headed out for a four day trip not this weekend, but next. It's camping season!

The New Collar Is Here!

Remember when we won a new collar courtesy of Life With Dogs? It arrived today. It is beautiful! Pictures do not do it justice.

I tried to take several photos of Scout, but she was not happy being a model for me today.

Jack seems a little jealous, so I put the collar on him and he did a great job modeling for me. Jack likes to dress up. He should have been a girl and Scout should have been a boy. :::sigh:::

I have an "Exam" coming up

I have been quite worried. I received a postcard in the mail this week. It was addressed to me... Jack of Two Greyhound Town. It was from the vet's office and said it was time for my exam.

I showed it to Scout and now she is worried.

I decided I better put on my glasses because they make me look smart. I need to look smart for my exam.

Mama asked me why I was wearing my glasses and I told her it was because of my exam. I told her I needed to study, but didn't know what. She told me that it wasn't that kind of exam. She said the doctor would examine me.

That even sounds scarier. I have been keeping myself in great shape though. You just never know when the track will call and want me to come back and race. Scout says I'm too old, but you never know. I'm not letting myself go like she is.

Mama told me to just relax and that the exam will be fine. So, I decided it doesn't help to worry. I'm chilling now. LOL

Happy St. Pat's Day

Okay, it's really St. Patrick's Day now. Last week, we played a "little" trick on all of you. LOL

Miss Roomba has a new battery, so she is busy cleaning our house. Mama is happy about that. She hates getting out the real vacuum. Scoutie and I don't care much for Roomba. She doesn't respect our space. She will run right into you if you are not careful.

We are still getting ready for camping. We leave Friday a.m. Mama is taking the laptop, so we can update you on our adventures.

Sunday

Today is an exciting day at our house. Daddy is getting the motor home ready. We are going camping this Friday, unless the weather turns bad. He is flushing out the water because it has to be winterized here in the Midwest over the cold months. He is then going to vacuum it out. Roomba has been under the weather, so he's going to use the real vacuum. Mama is washing all the blankets and towels. Scout and I have like five blankets of our own. Mama said it will probably take her most of the day to just do laundry because she has to do all of Daddy's laundry from his trip. She doesn't really mind laundry though.

Mama used the Dremel on our nails this morning, so we are feeling nice. We don't mind the Dremel. Mama gets it out and we both hop in our beds and wait for our turn. She gives us liverwurst when we are done, so it's worth having it done.

Even though Mama and Daddy are busy today, they are both home with us and that's a good thing.

Happy Day!

You know how people sit on their edge of their seats? Well...I'm on the edge of the bed.

Why?

Because I'm so happy that my Daddy is coming home tonight! He's been away on business this week. Mama says that they are both taking off work tomorrow and spending the day with us!!!

Happy St. Pat's Day!

Did we cause you to look at the calendar? LOL We wanted to be the first to wish you a happy St. Pat's Day. We missed Valentine's Day, so we figured we better do this while we were thinking about it.

We are nervous because it's going to storm later today. It's 77 degrees and tomorrow it's only going to be 42. We can feel something bad is going to happen today. Mama says we will be fine even with Daddy away on business. We think storms are so scary!

Springing Forward

Why do humans have this thing called "spring forward" and "fall back"? It really messes with our sleep. Jack and I are trying to get that hour we lost back.

I think Mama is trying to kill us!

Yesterday, Mama took Jack and I for a very long walk. She took us all the way to the other road. That's a long way! The worst part is coming back up the hill. Our mail lady says we live on a mountain if that gives you a better picture of what I am talking about. I didn't think I would make it, but Mama said I didn't have a choice. I'm sure we looked funny walking because it looked like Jack was pulling Mama who was pulling me. It was like we were lined in a row. LOL Here I am after the walk.

Mama says I look a little ticked off. I was exhausted.

This morning, she took us out again for another long walk. Do you believe it? She says we have to get in shape. We are going to participate in a fun run when we go to the greyhound event in June. She had to fill out the form yesterday and it asked our activity level. The choices were: low, moderate or active. She couldn't decide between low or moderate, but decided that we were moderate and if not, she will make us that way by June. Yikes!

Scout

Oh My Goodness!

We received some wonderful news yesterday! Are you ready for it?

Our name was drawn in a random drawing by Life With Dogs. Do you know what we won? We won a collar of our choice from 2 Hounds Design. Mama and I have drooled over her collars for as long as I can remember. Mama always said someday she would buy me one. Thanks to the generosity of Life With Dogs, I'm getting my beautiful collar. Yesterday afternoon and evening, Mama and I looked and looked at the website and we finally chose the one we want. I am going to look beautiful! This collar is very special and is not for playing in the mud. No, sir! It's a going to town collar. I will wear it to meet and greets and other special events. I bet I will get to take it on vacation to the greyhound event in Kansas.

You have to wait and see which one we chose. Yep, we are teasing you. LOL

Scout

Almost Camping Season

Mama and Daddy said we are going camping sometime this month! It will probably be closer to the end of the month. We will not need reservations because it's not the true camping season. We can basically just pack up and go when we get a nice weekend.

Scout and I are dreaming of the day that we are on the open road again.

We love checking out the campground and making new friends. It's been a long winter here at Two Greyhound Town.

Here's a photo of us with Daddy when we were camping last year. We can't wait to go again!

Scout Defends Herself

(Scout in her modeling pose)

I know my brother says I'm silly, but at least I'm not wreck-less like he is. He runs through the house like a crazy hound. He gets so excited when Daddy comes home from work that he can't stand still to be petted like I can. He runs through the house and grabs toys and throws them up in the air. He then runs through the house until Mama yells at him to stop. Mama said that he crashed through the wall once. Yep, it's true. He broke the dry wall. He's lucky he didn't break a leg.

It's true that I get scared when my tummy makes those strange noises. I've learned though that if I get freaked out, Mama will give me something really good to eat. So, whose the dummy?

Home Again - Part 3

Well, we just realized that we didn't finish telling you about the rest of our trip home.  I don't know if we even remember the res...
