More Holiday Photos of Past & Present Pets

It's me Jack again....I just realized that the obsession with holiday photos goes back even farther than I thought. I have found holiday photos of the pets before me. I think Mama has a definite problem.

This is Barney. He was in a abusive house before coming to live with Mama. Mama says he was the coolest cat that she has ever known. He became a diabetic at the age of 15 and never minded getting his daily insulin shots. He died at the age of 17 in 2003. Barney may have been a cool cat, but he looks a little ticked about wearing that Santa hat.

This is Sami. She moved in when she was a puppy and lived with Mama and Daddy until she died at the age of 15 in 2006. I was adopted a few months after she went to the Rainbow Bridge.

This is the holiday photo that Mama used last year. It's of Scout and me, of course. See, no hats, no ties, just our holiday collars. Mama had the hang of things last year.

Photos Jack Would Rather Forget

Jack here again.... Mama pulled out holiday pictures from the past few years. Do you want to see what she has done to me.?

These are from 2006.

First she tried the Santa hat. Nope, I am not going to look happy.

Then she tried the elf hat. Is she serious? This is so embarrassing.

Finally, this is the photo that was chosen for the 2006 holiday card. I'm wearing a Santa tie and not a stupid hat. I think it was the best choice. She wanted to have me in my jammies, but Daddy vetoed that.

Holiday Photos

Hey fellow furkids, it's Jack here. Does your Mama or Daddy dress you up for pictures for their holiday cards? My Mama does and she already started doing it today. We had our first holiday photo session of the year and it's only the middle of November. Can you believe that? I really don't think anyone really likes receiving our cards, but she keeps sending them out.

This year, she only made us wear these jester collars that she bought us last year. Whatever! It's not as bad as my first year here. The first year, I had to wear this elf hat. Can you say "EMBARRASSING"? Then she made me wear a Santa's hat. Last year, Scout refused to participate. Mama puts anything on her head and she deflates. She will not move, she will not look at the camera. She pouts.

Scout was fine with the jester collar this year because Mama gave us braunschweiger. We will do almost anything for that stuff. Yummy!

Mama was all excited because she thought she had a 33% off coupon for cards at Walgreen's. She spent hours choosing a card only to find out that the coupon doesn't work for cards. She said she will wait and see if they go on sale like they did last year before she orders. I think that also means that she may try to get more photos of us since she didn't order today. :::sigh:::

Oh, you want to see the front runner photo for the holiday card? Okay, here it is:

My Dogs Are Upset With Me

Last night, Jack's wound starting bleeding a little. I put styptic powder on it and he screamed. He didn't scream on Sunday when my husband did the same thing. I tried it again and again he screamed and this time Scout came running to help him. She was so concerned that Mama was hurting him. I then decided to put an ointment on it to keep it from getting infected. I noticed that Jack had his head buried into Scout and she was kissing his ears. How sweet is that?
I knew that she loved him, but I wasn't so sure about him loving her.

When my husband came home from work, they both greeted him and seemed to linger with him longer than normal. I told him that Jack cried when I put the styptic powder on him and both dogs gave me the "stink eye". Wow! I gave them a Frosty Paw to make up with them and they ate it, but they still gave me the cold shoulder most of the night.

Veteran's Day

I've been thinking today about all of those who have served our country and those who died doing it.

My Dad served in the Korean War. My Dad died unexpectedly in 1987. I posted this photo of my Dad on my other blog today, but I think it is okay to post it again.
This is my salute to him.
