Extra Large Is Huge

Mama has decided that she made a mistake ordering us extra large beds.  She wanted to be sure that she got us beds that were big enough.  You succeeded, Mama.  They are big enough.  BOL!

I like my bed.  It has enough room for a friend or two.

There is nothing like snuggling with a friend.
Dad says there is enough room for Scout.  No way! This is ALL MINE!

Weeee!  So much room!

Scout still likes our old bed, but she does like the new one, too.
Well, we should be rushing around like crazy today getting our new home, but it is not happening today.  We are not sure what will happen.  The motor home needs to be fixed from the accident and then the mechanic found some other things wrong with it that need to be fixed. The generator has a bad oil leak and one of the slides has an issue.  They can both be fixed, but we will not buy it with those issues. We are not sure what the owner will decide to do.

Dad said the guy who hit them was an 82 year old man driving a Lincoln.  He told them "I didn't want to get stuck behind you, so I gunned it."  His lane was ending, so he tried to squeeze between the motor home and a concrete barrier.  He lost.  His Lincoln is pretty messed up.

Dad called yesterday with good news.  His contract has been extended to stay here for another month!  We were so excited. Mama said "Rodeo, here we come!"  He then told us that while on his way home, he received a call from someone else wanting him to go to a different location. He said that they need him more than the current place.  :-(   The man said he was going to call Dad's boss today and tell him that.  :-(  We don't know what will happen now.  :-(  We think the signed contract should be respected.  Unfortunately, the place that Dad may be sent is too cold for us right now.  We could go there in April though.  Our life changes quickly it seems.

Our Beds Are Here! BREAKING NEWS at the bottom

Our day did not start out good here.  Mama is cleaning again.  She got the vacuum out today and I hate that thing.  She planned on cleaning the carpet, but realized she has spot remover and not carpet cleaner.  After she finished tormenting me with that vacuum, she said she was going to mop the floors.  It was at that same time that she received a notice from FedEx that our beds were in the office here.  She knew the boxes would be big, so she rushed to get them out of the office so that the office manager wouldn't complain too much.

Mama opened up the first box and my bed came out of the box. When she cut the plastic wrap, the bed came to life and grew.  BOL!  She gave it to me and I immediately laid on it.

Mama opened up the second box and said "Crud!"   They sent us two different colors.  It was going to be the first time that we have had matching beds and Mama was excited about that.  She looked at the packing slips and they both said "Various Colors".  She checked her order form and they both said Khaki.  One is just a shade darker than the other.  It's not terrible, but they definitely are not the same.  It is too much trouble to send one back.  We have both jumped in the beds, so we will just keep them.

We think Scout is just
They are very comfy as you can tell.  They are Extra Large 52'' Majestic Pet Bagel Dog Bed.  We ordered them from Walmart because they had free shipping and they were able to get them to us faster than other places.  The reviews on them were very good and two of the people who did reviews had greyhounds, so that sold us.  The cover is not removable.  The whole thing goes in the washing machine.  I know, kind of a pain, but we can take it to the laundry here and wash it.  Dad didn't want us to get microfiber because he said it gets nasty looking with our dripping noses.

Yep, I love my new bed. Sleeping on the floor is not so bad.

BREAKING NEWS

While we were writing our blog, Dad called.  Our soon to be new home was side swiped while on a test drive with the mechanic and Dad.  No one was hurt but the motor home lost some paint. The mechanic was driving, thank goodness.  We do not know what will happen now.  We are not sure if we will buy the home.  It is not owned by the dealership, but it was on consignment.  We do not know if the owner will make repairs or what.  Mama had just ordered the insurance to start tomorrow, so she canceled that.  It looks like we will be unpacking what we had packed for now.  Mama and Dad are not upset. They both just laughed.  It has been such a stressful week and everything has been a struggle, so maybe we are not meant to have that home.  Stay tuned.

Rodeo Is Coming To Town!

The Houston Rodeo is coming to town.  It is the largest event of its' kind in the world!   We found out last night that they set up camp with the horses and maybe cowboys in the field across from our dog walk!  Mama is excited about that.  There is a large parade through downtown the weekend before it starts.  The rodeo itself lasts for three weeks.  There are many events including concerts (lots of country singers), a carnival, shopping, livestock shows and the rodeo. There may be other events that we don't know about.  Mama is not sure if she will go to anything.  Dad's job here may end right before the rodeo starts.  There is talk that he may be extended, but we don't know for sure.  It is very possible that we will be here for a month without Dad.  Mama said she doesn't want to go to this by herself.  She may ask someone she knows from here if she wants to go.  We are just excited that we will be able to see the horses and maybe some cowboys.

I definitely need to get a cowboy hat or bandana before the rodeo comes to town.

We do have this flag on our site, so we are somewhat festive.

Friday Might Be The Day

Yesterday morning, Mama was really stressed.  She was on the phone almost all morning with lots of different people.  We didn't know buying a new home had so many steps to it.  She needed to get this motor home paid off, so she had to get the money wired to them.  It turned out to be easy after she got the proper forms, etc.  We are still waiting for a letter to be faxed or a title to arrive by mail showing we own it.  She called about insurance and got some quotes.  She still has questions on those.  She found out that the place we are buying from takes care of the licensing for us and that is really nice since the lines here for registering vehicles are very long.  She asked if they could do the Jeep, too.  BOL!  They said no.

This is what might be our new home.  The sun got in the way.  Mama says it is a pretty rig.

The inspection of the new motor home will take place tomorrow.  We are hoping we can bring it home on Friday. It is still possible that the deal could fall through on Friday.  If they decide Goldie isn't worth as much as they told us, we may just walk away from the deal.  Dad said their offer is really low and he will not take less.  Mama agrees.  It will be a pain waiting there all day and then not have the deal go through.  Yes, this adds to Mama's stress level.
A better shot of the dining area.  The bedroom is in the background.

We are in the midst of deep cleaning here.  We didn't know Goldie could sparkle so much.  BOL!  I think the refrigerator will be cleaned today and the freezer defrosted.  Mama has to do laundry this morning.  She hopes it is the last time she has to do big loads there.  She will be keeping her wagon because she will take blankets to the laundry room to wash them because our new washer is pretty small.  People love Mama's wagon.  She thought it was funny it came with cup holders, but you know what?  She uses them!  It is rare not to see the wagon without a soda in the front of it.

Mama has to clean the carpet.  It's a good thing she is waiting until the last minute because I got sick on it last night.  Sorry Mama.

The Shower.  It is a little bigger than ours now.  No, it is not slanted, Mama is.  BOL!

Our beds are on their way!  They will be here between Thursday and Monday, but they are estimated to be here on the 6th.  Isn't the 6th Wednesday?  Not sure, our calendar has been packed away.  We hope they arrive before Monday.  Dad would probably prefer they arrive on Friday so that we don't have to tote them all around.  We will probably put them in the Jeep until we get the new motor home.
The bedroom.  It has a lot of storage.
Mama is feeling much better and is not nearly as stressed as yesterday.  Her main focus now is getting things cleaned.  She says there is a lot of dog hair.  Well, it is not mine.  It must be Scout's.

A glimpse of the bed.  Not a good picture.  The big mirror is the closet.  Much bigger than ours now.
Ack! I just looked at the clock.  I need to get off the computer so that Mama can start her day.  There is lots to do here.
