Here he is....

...my biological Daddy!

Mama and Daddy went to the Greyhound Hall of Fame yesterday and met him. Mama said she can see where I got my good looks. She said Talented Mr. Ripley is very sweet. He lives at the Greyhound Hall of Fame. Mama saw his award for being in the hall of fame.

Scout's Grandfather is there, too, but not him, just his award.

Our Great Grandfather's award is also there.

There are greyhounds camping next to us. Do you want to know how many? 15! That's right, there are 7 in one motor home and 8 in another. Yikes! They have set up a long pen between the two motor homes so they can just come in and out and they run from one end of the pen to the other. Scout and I were surprised to see other greyhounds even though Mama kept telling us we would.

Mama and Daddy took a trolley tour of Abilene last night. The trolley came right to the campground and picked them up. They said it was interesting. Scout and I just waited here wondering if they were going to take us to Sonic for the free root beer floats. They didn't. They came home and took us for a long walk though.

Today, Mama and Daddy will leave us again for a while. They will do some shopping at the greyhound event and then they get to go to a greyhound farm. Mama is excited about that. Tonight, they will go back to the Greyhound Hall of Fame because it is opening tonight just for the greyhound event and offering a discount on shopping.

Tomorrow is even a busier day and we may go with them for some of the seminars. Tomorrow night is the fun run!

Kansas, here we come!

We are on our way to Kansas! We couldn't update the blog yesterday because we couldn't hold an Internet connection.

Yesterday, Mama and Daddy left us again. They went to tour the home that Frank and Jesse James were raised in. Mama said it was interesting. She said some kids that we met at the campground were also there.

Last night, we went on a trail that goes around the lake at the campground. We enjoyed that.

Here our photos of the park.

Here we are preparing for "takeoff".

That's about it for now. Mama needs to stop typing and help Daddy get through Kansas City.

Day 2 of Vacation

Today, Mama and Daddy went out and Scout and I stayed in the motor home. It was 90 degrees here today, so we were happy to be in our air conditioned motor home. Mama gave us frosty treats when they left. I think it makes her feel less guilty. We just laid around and napped and watched our TV shows. It's like being at home.

Mama said they went to Jesse James home. It's where he was living when he was killed. There is a bullet hole in the wall where he was shot. Mama said it was interesting to see his home and some of his belongings. They went to Patee Museum which is next door. Mama said it was really interesting. They had cars, trains, trolley cars, toys, plus a town was set up inside and you could walk through all the shops as they would have looked in the 1800's. The site is where the Pony Express left from St. Joseph. After that, they went to Godfather's Pizza. We don't have one near us and Mama has been wanting it for over two years. She said it was a buffet, so she ate as much as she wanted.

Tonight, we went for a walk around the campground. The camp host saw us and gave us treats. We thought that was pretty neat.

Mama got hurt last night. She fell down. Can you believe that? It wasn't my fault, but she was walking me. She ended up scraping both hands and one knee. She thought at first that she broke her wrist, but it's better today. I hope nothing else bad happens on our trip.

Tomorrow, I think we are just hanging out around the campground. We haven't walked any of the trails yet. Wednesday, we head to Abilene.

I'm on V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!

We are on our way to St. Joe, MO. We left this morning at 7:53 a.m. Daddy said that anyone who was not on the "bus" at 8 a.m. would be left behind. Scout and I loaded the "bus" at 7:45 a.m. He can't get of us that easily. LOL

A bird crashed into us on I-270. He left some feathers on our side mirror and a little more evidence that he didn't make it on the glass. I won't go into details, but Mama is not happy that she has to look out that window for 6 hours today.

We've stopped at one rest area so far and I think we get to stop at another in another 1.5 hour. Scout and I think rest areas are super fun.

That's it for now. We are rolling down I-70 towards our destination.

Our Frosty Treats - Recipe

Here is the recipe for Jack & Scout's frozen treats. it is very easy. I use a blender.

I purchased small plastic containers that are freezer safe for the treats. The containers are reusable, so they are perfect.

Ingredients

1 large container of Vanilla Yogurt - fat free is fine (2 lb)

2 Tablespoons of peanut butter

If your dogs like fruit such as bananas, throw that in. Scout likes it, but Jack will not eat bananas. I have tried apple sauce, but peanut butter is the favorite here.

Instructions

Place half of the yogurt in blender, add peanut butter and then add remaining yogurt. Blend well. Pour into containers and freeze.

That's it. This makes between 12-14 treats depending on how full I fill the cups. I buy a generic yogurt which is $1.67 currently at Walmart. So, this is a very economical treat for my dogs and they love it.

Home Again - Part 3

Well, we just realized that we didn't finish telling you about the rest of our trip home.  I don't know if we even remember the res...
