Open House Results

Yesterday was our first open house. Today, is day two. We were very busy vacuuming, mopping, dusting and yes, we got dusted again. The real estate man showed up so, Scout, Mama and I went out to the RV. We flopped down on the bed and couch and took a nap. I think Mama took a nap too because she had a bad headache. She's been very stressed over this open house thing.

How many people came to see our house? Zero, none, that's right not a single person. No one even drove past our house. Mama said she wasn't surprised with the turnout, but she was disappointed. Luckily, we have another open house today and maybe someone will come. We just hope it's someone who is really interested and not just someone who is being nosey. We will be glad when 3 p.m. is here and our lives can get back to normal.

We had storms last night, so we didn't sleep well. The lightning was constant and the thunder, well, it was scary! I ended up sleeping in the bed between Mama and Daddy. It was a very long night. It's still raining this morning. The weather people said the rain was going to stay to the north of us, but they were so wrong.

We Got Dusted!

Yesterday, Mama was cleaning the house preparing for the big open house. She was using the feather duster and the next thing we knew, she dusted us! She said anything that doesn't move gets dusted. Can you believe that? We told Daddy about it and he asked if Mama had to vacuum after getting all the dust off of us. We get no respect around here.

Open House Next Weekend

Jack here reporting on our busy weekend. We are having an open house next weekend on Saturday and Sunday, so that means we have to get rid of all the dust bunnies. We are having an open house special. That's right, if some one buys next weekend, they will save $20,000! We hope it works. Houses in our price range just are not selling around here. Anyway, we are busy cleaning and planting pretty mums and things like that. Mama washed some fancy towels that she has had for years and even though she washed them on delicate, they fell apart. She had to run out and buy new towels.

Daddy worked on our trail to the lake, so Mama and I walked down it today. I have lived here for four years and have never been to the lake. Can you believe that? I don't know why. I have trails in my own backyard and didn't even know it. Scout didn't go because she's being a diva today.

We are now done working for the day and are watching the Rams game. Scout and I are not dressed in our Rams gear because last year we did that and they only won one game. We don't want to bring them bad luck again.

Mama Does Wii Fit

Jack and Scout reporting to you on a raining Friday morning.

Our Mama purchased a Wii Fit for her birthday in February. She used it until we started getting the house ready to put on the market and then stopped. She said she didn't want the contractors to see her working out. LOL She's been really working hard at it for the past month.

Scout: I don't like the Wii games.

Jack: What don't you like?

Scout: The music and the yelling.

Jack: There's yelling?

Scout: Yeah, Mama's yelling.

Jack: Mama does get upset when she falls off a cliff or gets hit with a ball.

Scout: Yeah! Wii seems to be pretty violent. There's sweating and cussing.

Jack: We have pictures of Mama playing Wii. Do you want to see?
This is Mama playing the snowball game.

Jack: Seriously people, how many calories can you burn throwing a fake snowball?

Scout: I don't know, but I hope it keeps her from throwing snowballs at us this winter.

Jack: Here is a better picture of her getting ready for the obstacle course.

Scout: She doesn't really look like that.

Jack: No kidding Scout!

Scout: Here she is preparing to be weighed in. She says she looks like a weeble. She can't be a weeble though because weebles don't fall down and Mama falls down. The Wii lady even asked Mama if she falls down a lot. Wii lady told Mama that she is not very balanced.

Jack: Mama says she has lost 7 pounds so far, but she thinks she gained some of it back this week.

Scout: Daddy's been out of town and Mama ate a bag of hot fries.

Jack: Actually, it was two bags, but it wasn't all in one day.

Scout: Well, at least it wasn't all in one day. LOL She needs to stay away from those hot fries.

Jack: You know what I hate most about Wii? It's cutting into my Judge Judy watching. Mama needs to either work out before Judge Judy or after, but not during.

Scout: Jack, you really have a thing for Judy Judge.

Jack: I love Judge Judy!

The Big Brown Truck

Yesterday, the big brown truck pulled into our driveway. It's always exciting to see him. What could he be bringing us?

I told Mama to hurry up and open it!

What could it be?

Oh, it's a new bed! Yippie! It's really pretty. It sure did smell though. Mama took the cover off of it and washed it and it's much better now.

Mama ordered it from Costco on Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday. That's fast! It came all the way from Texas. Do you remember last year when Mama ordered us two beds and only one arrived? The lost bed was never found.

This bed is going to be Jack's, but I get to use it too. Jack's old bed is going into the RV because Daddy is tired of carrying beds back and forth. Yes, we have the huge bed in the camper, but we don't like to share that bed at night, so Jack usually sleeps in his bed on the floor.

You know what is funny? Daddy didn't even notice the new bed last night. Mama says what Daddy doesn't know won't hurt him. LOL

We Are Not Camping Labor Day Weekend Because...

... We just spent the past four days camping at Sam A Baker State Park.

We both wanted to tell you about our trip, so we are going to do this blog post together.

Jack: We had a lot of fun camping this past weekend. We did a lot of walking.

Scout: We got in the river. Well, I got in the river and laid down.

Jack: I got my ankles wet.

Scout: Yeah, Jack is scared to get his belly wet. He only gets his feet wet. I lay down in the water.

Jack: I have had a bad experience in the water. Don't you remember the time that Mama convinced me it was safe to get in the water and then I fell in a hole and almost went under water?

Scout: Yeah, that was pretty funny. LOL

Jack: Anyway.... I had a great time relaxing outside with Mama and Daddy. Scout stayed inside. She likes the air conditioning. She thinks she's a princess.

Scout: I am a princess. What's the point of laying out in the heat when you can lay on a bed with the air conditioning running? I like comfort.

Jack: It was cold when we woke up Saturday morning. Mama covered us up with a blanket and we waited for our breakfast. Mama makes us really good breakfasts when we camp.

Jack: We took several naps.

Jack: Mama thought it was funny to see Scout's legs sticking up.

Jack: Mama and Daddy ate at the campground restaurant twice and Mama brought us back a piece of her steak the second night. She forgot the first night.

Scout: Daddy said she cleaned her plate and then she remembered us. I can't believe she forgot us.

Jack: I couldn't believe it either. We made her feel guilty though and she remembered us the next night.

Mama said there were hummingbird feeders at the restaurant windows. Here are a few photos from their table.

Jack: The last night we were the only camper in our section of the park. It was strange.

Jack: We were able to walk anywhere we wanted because there wasn't anyone around. Scout however decided she had enough walking and stayed behind. Daddy said she had to go, but then Mama said it would be like pulling a mule. They had to pull her around like a mule Saturday night because she was tired and didn't want to walk.

Scout: Yep, I make a good mule. I like to walk when it's cool not hot, bug-free and when I'm not tired. What's wrong with that?

Jack: You are so spoiled, Scout! I, on the other hand, love walking and spending time outside. I'm a happy guy and think camping is so much fun. I can't wait to go again. Our next trip is for an entire week.

Scout: A whole week! Oh, no!

Jack: It will be fun! The weather will be cool and you will like it.

Scout: It will be exhausting.

Jack: Exhausting, but fun!

Roo Fest

(Hearing rooing on the computer.)

We had a roo fest this morning! Daddy doesn't like us to make a sound, but sometimes when Daddy is away, Mama lets us watch rooing greyhounds on YouTube. We only have to hear one rooing note and we take off on our own. Mama says that even a hound has to let loose sometimes.

Mama loves this song. It's the Greyhound Song.

Rooing is exhausting. We are ready to sleep the day away now.
