One Step Closer

We may be one step closer to getting a new motor home.  We have a contract on our house!   There are a lot of contingencies that we need to get through so Mama is not excited yet. We should know in two weeks if everything will work out.  Our agent is going to continue to show our house and we will take backup offers if they come in.  Paws and fingers are crossed here.

It was a quiet weekend here.  Saturday, the folks went out to dinner with someone Dad knows from work. They went to a Tex Mex restaurant. Mama will review it later. Yesterday, it rained most of the day, so we all stayed inside.  The folks did go out for dinner.  Dad went to a work Christmas party after that.  Our agent called while Dad was gone and told Mama that we were under contract. We stayed up late and watched Survivor.  Dad got home early enough to see the announcement of the winner on Survivor since it started so late.

The Houston Texans are in the playoffs, so that is exciting since we are living here.  I am not switching out my Rams' collar yet, but since we may become Texas residents while we are here, I may adopt the Texans as my second favorite team.

Our Tree Has Lights!

Mama found some small battery operated lights for our little tree.  The lights are really too big for our tree, but it is all the Super Target had and Mama was not daring enough to drive around too much.  She was scared she would get lost. Yes, she has a GPS, but "Maggie" gets confused with the feeder roads here.  She tells us to turn when we shouldn't.  Mama did take one wrong turn and got a little scared, but she made two u-turns and she was back on track.  She feels better since she got out yesterday and drove around.  She was telling Dad how to get home last night because he was confused.  BOL!

Our tree with the greyhound ornament under it.
Our thoughts still remain with the all the people who lost loved ones yesterday.  I don't think we will ever understand this senseless tragedy.

It Is A Sad Day In The U.S.

Mama was excited today to have the car for the first time here.  She went shopping. She visited Petsmart and bought us food and treats. She found a cute greyhound ornament at Petsmart.

She also shopped at a Super Target which is like a Supercenter Walmart.  They have a full grocery store.  Mama said she enjoyed leisurely shopping on her own today.

Mama was shocked when she came home and learned of the school shootings in Connecticut.  A kindergarten classroom was targeted.  It is just unbelievable.  It is a sad and terrible day in the United States. Newscasters are fighting back tears.  It is just so, so sad.

Do You Know A Greyhound That Throws Tantrums?

Yes, you do!  You know me, don't you?  I throw a tantrum when I don't get my way.  We have a routine when we walk. We ALWAYS stop at the large dog run.  Yesterday, Mama said we couldn't stop because another dog was using it. I stumped my feet, did two full circle turns and then stumped my feet again.  That is my tantrum. Guess what?  It worked!  The dog left the dog run and we got to use it. BOL!

Our bully sticks arrived the other day.  It was very exciting!
Open it!  I really need thumbs!

Bully sticks and other things!

Yum!

A lamb's ear.

Stop taking pictures! I will throw another tantrum!

These are the big bully sticks. They are very thick.
Mama irons Dad's work clothes and that is a difficult task in our motor home.  She found an ironing board that she likes.
It folds up, so it is easy to store.

Here it is unfolded before the legs come out.

There it is.  The legs are tall enough that she can use it on the bed.

It has a rack for the iron which is really nice.

The rack is really convenient.
Mama hopes that our next motor home has a spot big enough to keep a full sized ironing board, but if not, this works pretty well.

Mama put up a new restaurant review.  This one is on Beck's Prime.

Have a nice day everyone!  It is sunny and warm here.  I no longer have to hide under my blanket. BOL!

A Life Lesson

Yesterday, I had a life lesson. I thought at the age of five that I knew it all, but I was wrong.  Are you ready for my life lesson?

Not everything is soft like a stuffie.
A very soft stuffie.
A vacuum is very hard, not soft.
It hurts to bite a vacuum.   I hate that vacuum and yesterday I had enough.  Mama was using it and I bit it hard.  OUCH!  I thought I broke my teeth.  Mama checked and said I was okay, but I was stunned.  I just laid down and thought about the lesson I learned.

It has been really warm here until this week.  We were at 80 on Sunday and then our high yesterday was in the 50's. It was near freezing last night.  We know that is not that cold, but our motor home is very drafty. The good thing is that we will be using our air conditioners by the end of the week.

We either need to go further south or buy a better insulated motor home.

It is really nice when the sun is out because it warms up our motor home fast.

Scout liked the sun for a little while, but then got hot.  She prefers cold weather.

The flowers are still very pretty.

Isn't this cute?  Santa is in the tent and the reindeer are roasting marshmallows.  At night, the fire lights up.

Last night, our Emeals was a Mexican pizza.  Mama loved it!  It made a pretty big mess in the kitchen though.  She fried the tortillas, so that took a skillet. She browned the ground beef in the electric skillet.  She added refried beans to the ground beef.  She then layered each tortilla with ground beef and beans, salsa, black olives, green onions, tomatoes and cheese.  She stacked two of those on each other and baked for about ten minutes.  Mmmmm!!!!

Mama has a new review on her restaurant blog. It is on Little Pappasito's Cantina.

Rumor has it that we will have a package delivered today full of bully sticks and other chew things!

Mama Made A Mess!

Last night, Mama and Dad didn't go out to dinner.  Mama looked over her Emeals menu and decided to make a meal that she knew would take a while to prepare and would also make the biggest mess.  She decided she would rather do it last night than some other night.  I don't know why.  That is just what she said.  Mama always says that fixing spaghetti makes a lot of dishes.  You need a pot to boil the spaghetti, a skillet to fry the hamburger and a strainer to drain the spaghetti.  The meal last night added even more dishes because the spaghetti was placed in a casserole dish and baked.

Are you ready to see what our little kitchen looked like after Mama fixed the meal?
Yep, this is a messy kitchen.  You don't see the electric skillet that was used. It is next to the stove.  It has to sit on the side because the stove top was used to boil the spaghetti.  The skillet normally sits on top of the cook top.

Here is it all cleaned up.

This is what caused the mess.  It is Layered Baked Spaghetti.  It has spaghetti, ground beef, sauce, green peppers, onions, cream cheese, parmesan cheese and a can of french fried onions.
Here we are watching the mess being made.  Yes, our house is a mess.  Mama says it is hard for it not to look messy even when it is clean.  We only have so much space for things.

Me thinking "If I made a mess like that, I would be in trouble!"
Dad really liked the casserole.  Mama didn't care that much for it.  She is not a huge fan of cream cheese.  She likes it in cheese cake though.

We hung up our Christmas lights.  Mama chose snowflakes. They are blue and white.  It is hard to see in this picture, but it really lights up our motor home.  We can see it all the way from the dog run.  BOL!
We need lights for our tree now.
