A Fix For Sliding Rugs

Mama used to get aggravated with our rugs because the vacuum would try to eat them.  She would have to turn off the vacuum so that it would release them.  It just made the job that much harder and we hate when she vacuums anyway.  She saw something at the Camping World in Kansas City that she wanted to try, but Dad told her it wouldn't work.  She waited until we got here and she bought a set.  What is it?

Yes, they do work!   The rugs stay put while Mama vacuums and we don't slide on the floor.  Mama is very pleased with them.  She went back to the store and bought more and now vacuuming is a breeze.  She does not know how well they would hold up in a washing machine, but our rugs are not machine washable so it does not matter to us.  The part that sticks to the floor is supposed to come up easily.  I guess we will find out if that is true when it is time to replace the rugs.  BOL!  They are carried in other stores other than Camping World.  She saw them at Fred Meyer this week. They probably carry them all over.

Best Bully Sticks is having a good sale.  They are offering 15%.  The code is in our sidebar.  We wish we could order.  We do not have mail service here and it would cost us way too much to have them shipped to our mailing address and then forwarded on to us at a later time.    We are having withdrawals as we are out.  Mama found a pet store here and bought us a few bones yesterday.  It is not the same though.

One of Scout's glamour shots.
We saw the beaver last night.  We ran to tell the host.  She keeps missing him.   One afternoon, the host and Mama waited and waited for him to come out.  It drew quite a crowd from the other campers.  BOL!

Home Alone With Brownies

Yesterday, Mama decided to make some brownies. Actually, they were a combination brownie and cookie.  She decided to use the oven instead of the microwave/convection oven because the microwave/convection oven really heats up the RV.  It just blows out the heat.  It is great in the winter, but not good in the summer.  It usually raises the temperature about five degrees or more in here and it takes our air conditioning a long time to cool it back down.  On a side note, remember when Mama said that you can't use the microwave right after using the convection oven?  Well, she was wrong.  It can be used right away and she does it all the time.

Okay, so back to the brownie making.  She used the oven and it only caused the temperature in the RV to go up two degrees, so she will probably use the oven more often now.  She set the brownies out on the counter to cool and then the folks left for dinner.  Yep, she left them uncovered.  As they were paying the bill at the restaurant, Mama remembered the brownies and us.  She got really scared.   They rushed home and on the way she said "I'm sure they didn't eat them.  They don't touch food.  Oh, wait, Scout ate my spaghetti once."  Dad reminded her that there was a bunch of stuff on the floor in front of the counter and that might discourage us from getting near the counter.  (That is a whole other story that we will talk about later this week.) They pulled into our driveway and while Mama was running to get inside to check on us, she bumped her leg on the tow hitch on the car and now she has a big lump.  She opened the door and I was the only one who greeted her which is unusual.  I was licking the sides of my mouth.  She looked at Scout who still in bed and she was licking the side of her mouth.  Mama said "OH NO!"  She ran to the pan of brownies and they were untouched!  Yep, we did good!  We got lots of hugs for being good.  Why were we licking the outside of mouths?  I'm not telling.  BOL!

How were the brownies?  Well, something went really wrong with them.  They turned out to be very hard.  Dad had a heck of a time getting some out of the pan.  It was quite comical.  Dad said there is something sticky on the top of them.  He thought it was caramel.  Mama said it is a cookie dough mix that came in the box.  We don't know what happened to them.  No, really we don't.  Mama usually makes a decent brownie or at least that is what she says.  We are not allowed to have any since they are chocolate.

We think the tent campers are here to stay.  They brought in a dorm sized refrigerator, a cook top and they hung up misters.  They are having trouble with their screened area that goes over their picnic table.  The roof keeps falling in on them.

No luck in getting a decent photo of us for the contest.  Time is running out.

Mama is not going to start on the cross stitch project for a while.  It may be a winter project.  She has other projects going on right now.  She has been knitting with her looms again.

Our new battery for the laptop should be delivered here today.  We hope the battery is the problem and not the cord.  Mama has been on an ordering frenzy because we are leaving here in two weeks and we will not have mail service for at least a month after that.  Bully sticks are on their way, too!!!  We can't run out of those, you know.  They really do keep our teeth clean. Scout has never needed a dental and I'm looking good so far.  Yep, we love our bully sticks.  BOL

Bully Sticks Are Here!

We haven't been chewing our bully sticks as much since we have been living on the road, but recently we took an interest in them again.  Mama decided to place an order for us while we still have a good shipping address.  They arrived yesterday. We were excited!

Oh, boy!

Open it before my eyes pop out!

Yep, smells like bully sticks!

Yum!

Yummy!

On our way to the fire house.

See the red sign?  That's the Jack In The Box that Mama walks to for lunch sometimes.  There is still standing water.

These are probably the best pictures we will get of the ducklings.

Another view of Goldie.

Hi Mom!  Have you been looking at the ducks again?
Mama made tortilla pizzas last night, but she forgot to take photos. The pizzas did not have a sauce. They had a layer of  Monterey Jack cheese, diced tomatoes, Canadian bacon and then another layer of cheese.  She placed olive oil in the electric skillet and coated the tortilla and fried it on both sides and they added the toppings.  She covered the skillet until the cheese melted.  She thought they were pretty good.

Dad has made our reservations for our next trip. We will stay somewhere in Louisiana on Friday night. It will take us probably 7 or more hours. Dad has to work half a day on Friday.  The next night we will stop in South Carolina and finally, Sunday night we will be in Washington DC.  It's a very long trip.  We are excited about continuing our adventure, but not looking forward to the long drive.

Tomorrow is the dog show.  Mama is excited about going.  They have a lot of vendors and demonstrations, so it is more than just a dog show.

I Have A New Bed!

Even though I am WAY over budget for this month, I got a new bed!  Mama saw this bed over a month ago and she has been shopping around and couldn't find one she liked better for the price.  The folks decided to get it for me this weekend in case they run out of time next weekend.

I like it!

I tore the tags off within10 minutes of using it. At first, I thought the bed was a huge stuffy.   Mama warned me not to tear it up. I have calmed down with it. My only compliant is that it doesn't fluff well.  It is pretty comfy though.    It looks nice in our motor home and doesn't take up as much space as the comforter I was using. We have moved that back into the Jeep.

Mama also ordered us some bully sticks.  Our budget is so busted that we may as well just cross it off and start over in August.  That works, doesn't it?

Life is good!

Bully Sticks Are Coming!

Mama received a coupon code for Best Bully Sticks today, so she placed us a BIG order.  Grandma and Grandpa gave us money for Christmas, so we spent it!  We are so excited!  We love bully sticks!  I think Grandma was shocked when she learned what they were.  LOL   I guess when you think about what they are, it is kind of gross, but we like them. Mama read an article where Cesar Millan recommends them over other chews.  He said they are highly digestible and that's why he recommends them.  Mama likes them because they keep us busy in the evening and they help keep our teeth clean.  We like them because they taste good.

Here is the coupon code, if you want to place your own order: JANSAVE10.  It's for 10% off. It expires on Friday.  It's not the best savings, but I think the most they ever offer is a 15% off coupon and that only comes once a year.
