It's Peaceful

It is nice to have the campground back from all the weekenders.  Most of the weekend people were gone by 11 a.m. yesterday.  It is amazing how fast they clear out and how quiet it becomes here.  We definitely are not fans of being here on the weekends because it gets pretty wild with the kids and the dogs.  There was a beach party on Saturday with a DJ, but it was so cool that most people didn't swim.  There were fire engine rides on Saturday night, but I got scared this time.  We were outside and the fire engine came by and people were yelling.  One guy asked if we came with saddles?  I don't get it.

Last night, we were walking and this lady who really likes us says "There are my DARLINGS!"  She calls us her darlings.  Then, we walked by her place again and she said that it looks like we were trained by Cesar Millan.  Mama laughed so hard that I thought she might wet herself.  Mama said that she caught us at a good time.  Mama had just been telling Dad that she thinks she will take me for some training when we get back home.  She says I am still hard to handle at times.  Me?

Mama says that Jack would have loved Ohio.  You want to know why?  It's because Judge Judy is shown three times a day here.  LOL

Saturday night, the folks had planned on eating at a place that was on The Best Thing I Ever Ate.   However, when they found the place, they decided against it.  They knew it was a bar, but it looked a little wilder than they were comfortable with, so they went across the street to a place called The Pufferbelly.  It is located inside an old train station.

Coleslaw and bread

Smoked St. Louis Ribs - half slab - $13.95

Jamaican Steak and Shrimp with Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli - $16.95

Mama was not impressed with the ribs. The sauce was pretty heavy.  She did remove some of it. There were some parts of the ribs that were just too fatty to eat.  She did not like the fries at all.  They did not have any flavor and were hard.

Dad did not like his meal either.  The steak was very thin and he is not sure how it was prepared but it was not grilled.   Notice the small amount of broccoli.  There must be a shortage.  LOL

It was an interesting building, but they will not eat here again.

Saturday the folks had two bad dining experiences, but they did have fun sightseeing.  Yesterday, they explored Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  We will tell you about that tomorrow!

Smuckers

The campground really comes to life on the weekends.  During the week, we have full-timers who pull in for a night or two. They are quiet.  The weekends bring families with kids and dogs. The full-timers have dogs, but they seem quieter for some reason.  This weekend has to be the most dogs we have seen.  There is one family with six small dogs....six yappy dogs.  There are several people with poodles.  The worse is a family with two beagles. Their bark is more of a scream.  It sounds like someone is trying to kill them. It's really bad at 6 a.m. when they bark at us.  This morning, they saw us and started their screaming.  I started whining and then we heard coyotes barking.  Mama was scared we would start rooing.  That would not be good at 6 a.m.  Mama is always happy when the park clears out during the week and we can walk around without having dogs bark at us at every corner.

Yesterday, Scout and I were in the dog park and Scout decided to run.  Well, I decided it looked like fun.  Mama was trying to get us to stop, but she couldn't yell at us because it was 6 a.m.   It was so much fun.  We haven't had a run since we left home.  Mama is scared we will get hurt, but we have to be dogs, don't you think?  Later, we took a walk and we were so good according to Mama.  We just walked along without pulling or having to be pulled. Maybe the run did us good. We walked past this one trailer and a guy yelled "THERE IS A LADY WALKING TWO GREYHOUNDS, COME QUICK!"  LOL

The folks visited the Smuckers store and museum today. Smuckers makes jams, jellies and ice cream toppings. They own several companies such as Hungry Jack, Pillsbury, Crisco, Dunkin Donuts, Jif, Flogers, Eagle Brand, Knotts Berry Farm, Martha White and others.  You can see all their brands here.  The folks planned on eating at their cafe. Mama tried to find reviews on it, but nothing came up.  It turns out that it is not much of a cafe. They basically serve pizza.  They really should think of opening up a real cafe there.  They could serve homemade biscuits with all their jams and jellies. They have enough brands that they could make just about anything.  They really are missing out by not doing that according to Mama.

Leaving Smuckers
Mama said it was fun visiting the store. The musuem wasn't real exciting or big, but it showed the history of Smuckers and that was interesting.  They did buy a few things. Mama saw some ice cream toppings that she just had to have.  One is pecan in syrup. She has not seen that in the store, but she doesn't normally look at ice cream toppings, so it might be quite common.  We need ice cream to try them out. Dad bought some peanut butter.

Since they decided not to eat in the cafe, they had to find another place for lunch. They were in Amish country, so they chose an Amish restaurant.  It was a little pricey, so they chose to just have sandwiches instead of a full meal or the buffet. They were not impressed at all, but it's probably because they ordered hamburgers at an Amish restaurant. It is probably not their speciality. LOL

The Amish restaurant had a gift shop and Mama was tickled because they had greyhound items.

I don't know why they think greyhounds look like Scout, but apparently they do.

The folks went out to dinner, but our post is getting long, so we will talk about that tomorrow.

Loose Pig!

I bet that got your attention, didn't it?  LOL   Yes, there is a loose pig in the park, but we will tell you more about later.

This morning, Mama asked me what I wanted to write about. I told her I didn't know because not much is going on right now. People really don't want to hear about you doing laundry or Dad breaking the car window.  Hmmm....maybe the car window is blog worthy.  Basically, Dad went out for lunch which is extremely rare and when he rolled down the window, it fell.  He now has it held up with magnets and has most of the door taken apart.  The door didn't want to open when Mama needed to open it to do laundry. She was not a happy camper.  She hopes the window really gets fixed and it is not something that she has to learn to live with.  A person really needs a driver side window that works.  How are you supposed to go through a drive-thru ?  It is already a pain because we have to use a card to get into the park and it's hard when you can't roll down your window.  Mama said she is not going to worry about it.

Mama suggested we take the camera on our walk this morning and maybe we would find something to blog about.  We didn't even get out the door before we found excitement.
Mom, something is out there!

See it?

It's a black squirrel!

I have never seen a black squirrel before!

Very interesting!
The squirrel finally left and we headed out on our walk.  We walked slowly as this is our third walk of the day and it's only 9 a.m.  It's a beautiful day here, so we are enjoying it.  We turned the corner and what do we see?
It's a pig!

It's a pig wearing a harness!

It's a pig wearing a harness next to a rock that is painted pink to look like a pig!
Mama was right. You just never know what you will see on a walk.

We Just Can't Be Wordless On Wednesdays

It's true, we have only been wordless a few times on Wednesdays. We just can't do it very well. LOL

Like my tongue?
Last night, Mama got her haircut. She said she spent the entire time telling the stylist about our HUGE adventure. The stylist said it sounded like so much fun and Mama told her it was. Mama stopped at the pet store and bought us some treats. Dad's plan of giving us the pet food samples from the dog show as treats didn't go over well with us. It kind of upset our tummies, so Mama bought us some real treats. Mama went to the local grocery store and found a treasure. She found Diet Code Red Mountain Dew. She has not been able to find it since we left home. Mama is happy.

We were asked if Mama is a restaurant reviewer? Mama wishes she was. She always reads the Urbanspoon reviews before she tries a restaurant and decided to start contributing since she likes to talk about the food she tries. Her blog reviews are being put on the site as well as her photos and comments.  She wonders if she should start a blog that only has restaurant reviews.  I told her to go for it, but she is still thinking.

Dad was given a bag full of home grown tomatoes yesterday at work. Mama took some to our neighbors this morning. They said they will make salsa with them.  Wow!  Mama is just going to eat ours.  LOL

Scout and I have been visiting the dog park here. There are always so many new smells there. We have been meeting a lot of new people here. I am even asking people to pet me now. I never really cared if people petted me before, but now I love it.
