RIP Talentedmrripley
I learned that my Bio Daddy, Talentedmrripley, died on Wednesday of a stroke. He was 11 and lived at the Greyhound Hall of Fame in Abilene, KS.
He was an excellent racer. He never finished lower than 5th place. His record was 65/7-3-2-2 in79 starts. If you would like to read more about him, here is a link. Talentedmrripley
I did not take after him. I raced eight times and came in second once. I liked to bump the other dogs. I still like to bump, but I do it to Mama now.
Bio Daddy was busy. There are 1,061 of his offspring running around. I guess that's why I never saw him on holidays.
Last year, we traveled to Abilene, KS for a greyhound event and I saw Bio Daddy through the window of the Greyhound Hall of Fame. This is what I wrote on my blog about seeing him:
"This afternoon, we walked past the Greyhound Hall of Fame. My bio Daddy was not happy. He started barking and running in front of the window. He was not happy that I was on his property. It's not like I was coming asking for money or anything. Sheesh! Mama just wanted to have our photo taken in front of the sign. The Hall of Fame lady put him in the back room and came out to meet me since I was one of his sons. We told her that we didn't want to upset him. She said he carries on like that when any dog walks past the Hall of Fame. He is like a real watch dog. We are not like that at all. We don't bark. A burglar would have to trip over us to get hurt."
Mama and Daddy actually met him and said he was very sweet. He had a nice throne in which he greeted his guests.
Here Scout, Mama and me are in front of the Greyhound Hall of Fame.
RIP Talentedmrripley. You will be missed!

Oprah Went Camping!
Did you hear that Oprah went camping in Yosemite? It was her first time camping. Mama and I watched the show and laughed and laughed.
She camped in a pop-up with her best friend, Gayle. Oprah hit a rock with the camper. She said it damaged the bathroom, but she didn't go into detail about it. The next morning she had trouble opening the bathroom door, so maybe that's what she meant about it damaging the bathroom.
Oprah should have called me. Doesn't she know that I'm a camping expert?
I definitely could have given her some camping tips.
They didn't show her at the dump station, so we don't know if she dumped. Maybe she doesn't know that she needs to dump. She gave the pop-up away to a couple she met at the park. I hope for their sake that she dumped or that is going to be a stinky camper.

Still Waiting - But Encouraged
The people really liked our house. They want to look in another area next week, so no offer...yet.
We will have to wait at least another week before we hear anything, but at least they are considering us. Our house was supposed to come off the market today, but Mama and Daddy have decided to leave it on the market for another 15 days so that there is not any confusion with our listing.
Since we are approaching winter and a sale may occur, Mama said we may end up living in a HOTEL for a month or two if it's too cold to live in the RV. Now, that would be a real adventure. Daddy works for a hotel chain, so we would get a discount. It sounds like a good plan to me. I stayed once in a motel, but Scout has never ever stayed in anything but the RV.
Daddy is traveling this week, so we are keeping Mama company. Daddy gave Mama a Kindle last month for Christmas. Yes, she got her Christmas present very early. Anyway, the Kindle is keeping her busy reading and we just keep her company by sleeping near her. It works out well for all of us.

Waiting
We are waiting for the phone to ring. We had our showing today and we are anxiously waiting for an offer to come in. We know that it may not happen, but it's hard not to be anxious. Mama and Daddy were rushing around this morning putting finishing touches on the house. Scout and I tried to help. We didn't even mess up the bed after it was made.
After the showing, we went to the park. We walked through the campground for the last time this year. It closes after today. The park is open in the winter, but the campground is blocked off so no one can walk through it in the winter. Mama said if we move, we probably won't visit the park very often because we won't be living around here. It's strange to think that our favorite park will not be a few minutes from our house. Mama said we can still visit from time to time though and she said we will probably find a new park to call our favorite.
We are spending the rest of the day relaxing. No one comes here on Halloween, so it should be a quiet evening unless we get an OFFER ON THE HOUSE and then Mama will be running through the house screaming and Scout and I will be chasing her and goosing her. LOL
Happy Halloween!

Paws Are Crossed
You are not going to believe this. We have someone who wants to see our house tomorrow at 9 a.m. Our contract runs out on Monday. We had accepted that we would be living here through next year, but maybe, just maybe, we will get an offer. We have our paws crossed. This is our last chance to sell this year. Mama and Daddy have been busy cleaning and doing yard work to make it look as spiffy as possible. I have been trying to help, but Mama said I'm getting in her way. What? That can't be. Daddy was trying to get some squeaks out of the floor, so Mama was walking on them so he could hear them in the basement and I was just following her around. That's getting in the way? Sheesh!
When Mama got the call yesterday about the showing, she was not very excited. She said that selling now would put us in the RV in the dead of winter and that is not what we wanted. Plus, the propane man came unexpectedly this week and filled up our tank. We were planning on calling him after the house came off the market. However, Mama is now hoping we get an offer even though the timing is not good. She said we can make it work. Daddy said if the people want to move in by Thanksgiving, that's not a problem. We are trying not to get too hopeful, but if the people want to see our house at 9 a.m. on a Sunday, they must be really looking to buy. We figure they are looking at other houses, too, but we hope we can win them over.

Grounded
Jack and Scout reporting to you this morning.
Jack: We were grounded yesterday. NO TV!
Scout: Yep, grounded, no TV.
Jack: No People's Court, Judge Judy, The Talk, etc, etc.
Scout: I really don't care for TV much so it didn't bother me. There is a commercial I like though. It has a whale in it and I've been imitating his sounds which is driving Mama crazy! LOL Jack loves his TV though, so he was very upset that he couldn't watch it.
Jack: It's Scout's fault that we got in trouble.
Scout: You could have said "NO" Jack, but you didn't.
Jack: What did we do? Well, we got Mama up around 2 a.m. to go outside. That's not why we got in trouble though.
Scout: No, we do that a lot.
Jack: We got in trouble because we did zoomies around the yard. Mama told us to come in and we just ran circles around her.
Scout: It was so funny! Mama was standing out in the middle of the yard dressed in her jammies. Her arms were flapping and she kept yelling at us to get in the house. We just kept running circles around her.
Jack: Mama said it looked like she was a lion tamer in the circus.
Scout: It was a lot of fun, but Mama didn't think it was. She said "YOU'RE GROUNDED, NO TV!" I just laughed and said "whatever". It was worth loosing TV for a day.
Jack: So, yesterday, I missed all of my favorite shows. I hope I can catch up on Days Of Our Lives today because it was at a dramatic part when it ended on Tuesday.
Scout: I'm sure you didn't miss anything, Jack. That show moves slower than a turtle.
Jack: So, that's why we were grounded yesterday. We didn't get Mama up last night, so we are golden today.
Scout: Yeah, we are golden. LOL
