More New Coats!

Mama went shopping earlier this week and bought more fabric for coats. She is attempting once again to make me a camouflage coat. She is making Scout one that is either a leopard or a cheetah. We are not sure what it is. Scout says she feels pretty in the material.

We think the coats turned out pretty good. Mama is not happy with the top stitching she put on mine. She decided not to put a top stitch on Scouts and likes it better.

We like these coats and we've learned that being models is very rewarding. We get treats for modeling!

The weather has turned warmer here, so we won't be needing to wear our new coats for a while. Daddy said we would take a ride in the RV today because it needs to be run even in the winter, but our road is so muddy that we probably are not going to get to go. Mama is scared that the motor home could get stuck. Daddy has been talking about camping and we thought he took off work on Friday to take us camping, but we misunderstood. He and Mama WENT to a camping show. They didn't buy us anything though.

Mama's Sewing Again.....Quick, HIDE!

Today, Daddy went to Grandpa's house to help him install some doors in the basement. Mama stayed home with us. We thought it would be fun, but she got the sewing machine out. That can be a scary experience for us. She makes things that are embarrassing to wear and then there are the endless fittings.

She tried a new pattern today and we didn't hear much cussing from her, so that was a good sign. She had us come in a few times to try on the coat and then she gave us treats, so it wasn't so bad. The coat doesn't really look like the picture on the pattern. It's supposed to be just one layer of fabric and she didn't like that, so she added a denim layer to the top and fleece to the bottom. She also added like a turtle neck to it. It actually looks like a coat. She even put some pretty stitching on it.

She noticed tonight that it is a little tight on Scout, so the next one needs to be enlarged, but it is wearable.

Are you ready to see it?

Mama can't wait to go to the store and buy more fabric. YIKES!

It's Still Cold

(Scout dreaming of warmer weather)

It's 6 degrees this a.m. with a windchill of -10 to -15 below. There will be no walks today. Mama opens the door to the backyard and tells us to hurry. We can do our business pretty fast when we want to.

The mail lady did come yesterday after all. We were shocked. We wonder if she will make it today. Mama ordered a new pattern for coats for us and it should be arriving any day. The pattern shows a greyhound on it, so we hope it will fit us better than the ones she has been making us.

The UPS man did not come. His comments on the tracking website said an emergency prevented him from coming. Later, it was updated to say it was due to the weather and it will be delivered as soon as possible. It's an order from Alice. Mama loves to order from them. It prevents her from running to town so often because they carry a nice variety of household items. Alice also carries some pet products, so we like that. If you are interested, it's Alice and again, we are not receiving anything for mentioning the company. The company offers coupons on some items and those can be really good. She received a regular size of Snuggle fabric softener for just $.38 once. She said to check out "The Best Deals" section. She has noticed the prices going up slightly and the shipping is not as quick as it was even a few weeks ago. She used to get her order the next day and now it is take 3 days or more.

Hope you all have a nice and warm Friday. We are going to spend the day snuggled up in blankets.

It Snowed!

It snowed last night, but we are not playing in it too much because it is cold. It's only in the teens and the temperatures are dropping all day. The windchill is between -5 and -10 right now. Mama says there will be no walks today. Scout loves the snow, but even she is just making a quick run around the yard because it's so cold. Mama says it's cold in a lot of places right now and we are lucky that we have a nice warm house and plenty of food, so we are not complaining.

Mama stocked up on food this week. We get stranded here when it snows. We probably won't see the mail person until next week. We have a delivery from UPS that's supposed to come today and it has treats for us, but Mama said not to count on it until next week. Daddy's car doesn't do well in snow, so he takes the Jeep so Mama says we must be really careful and not get hurt or sick until he gets home from work. Don't worry, if it was a real emergency she would call Daddy or Grandpa and they would help us.

On a personal note, we want to send out hugs to our greyhound friend, Camie. She lives in California. It doesn't snow there, you know. We can't say much without getting leaky eyes, but if you want to read more about her, here is her blog, Camie's Kitties Hugs to you and your Mama, Camie!

It's My Birthday!!!!

It's true, today is my 6th birthday! This morning Daddy asked me if I wanted to go to the park.

My first thought was that it was 6 degrees. I don't want to go to the park.
Then he told Scout and she thought about it while I hid my head.

Daddy said we would wait until it got to 12 degrees before we went. We decided to go outside and test the temperatures.
6 degrees is cold PEOPLE!

Mama dressed us up. I wore my jammies and a snood that Mama made. Scout wore that ugly coat that Mama made along with a snood. Let me just say that these outfits are embarrassing. Nothing matches! The collars don't even match. Daddy said no one would see us, so off we went.

I have to say that 12 degrees isn't much warmer than 6 degrees, so we only stayed a few minutes and headed back to the car. I really hope that this trip to the park wasn't my only birthday present.

Happy New Year!!!!

We wanted to be one of the first to wish you a happy new year!!!! We hope that 2010 treats you better than 2009. Our 2009 wasn't bad, but improvement is always welcome.

We've been very busy this week. Daddy has been away on business, so we've had to help out Mama more than normal. We make sure that we take her for her walks every day. Today, it was snowing, so we decided to just go in the afternoon. She seemed fine with that. She said we could skip our afternoon walk if we wanted, but we needed to check our pee mail since we didn't go this morning, so we went. We've been entertaining Mama in the evenings by trying to learn new tricks. Last night, we supervised the cleaning of Daddy's chair and a few spots on the carpet. We didn't really enjoy doing that because the carpet cleaner is very loud.

Daddy will be home tomorrow night! He will give us ear rubs and lots of hugs. We really miss him when he is gone.

Hope everyone has a nice New Year's Eve. We are staying at home with the folks.

Santa Came!

Santa came to our house on Christmas Eve. Scout and I were outside and when we came in, there was a big trash bag that Mama said was left for us. Mama handed out our gifts. I love my hedge hog. He squeaks, sqawks and rattles. He has it all!

Here is Scout waiting in line for her present. She received a dog that has squeakies in his feet. Scout wanted squeakies in the belly, so Mama fixed him the next day. She recycled squeakies from some of the toys that we don't play with and put two squeakies in the dog's belly so now Scout loves her toy.

Here I am with Scout's toy. I had to test it out for her.

After we played with our toys, Mama gave us our bones. Look how big this thing is!

Scout is having trouble getting her mouth around it.

Excuse me, I'm busy playing here.

Yesterday, we just hung out with Mama and Daddy. Here Scout is enjoying the warmth of the fireplace.

I was really tired after playing with my new toys, so I took a nice long nap. I like that Santa guy. He brings good things to us.

Hope everyone else had a "greyt" Christmas like we did.
