We were watching Modern Family and were excited because they were going to take a trip in a motor home. The show was interrupted due to the storms. The radar was lit up with red all over. We found our city on the map and it looked like we would be okay. Mama had her tablet out and watched the radar from there. A tornado warning came out for Tarrant county but it was to the south of us. Dad said it looked like we would be okay. He got on the phone with a friend and Mama went into the bedroom to watch the radar. They said a hook echo was showing up on the radar. Mama looked up the location on her tablet and it was near us. She showed Dad while he was on the phone and he hung up. He had never seen a hook echo that looked that bad. He said "Get the dogs dressed!" We had to put our collars and leashes on. Mama grabbed her purse. Dad grabbed the tablet and our WI-FI and we ran to the car. The sirens were going off then. We drove the few blocks to the parking garage and saw lots of people we knew there. Everyone had their dogs and cats. It was almost like a party. Miss Woe was there with her people. We stayed until the warning ended around 9:15 p.m.
We say it was late night, but it was only 8:30 p.m. when we left home. Our bedtime is 9 p.m., so that is late night for us. BOL We were up until about midnight because more storms came through. It rained really hard. Our windshield leaked big time. We were fine though and a tornado never showed up here.
Today, we sat on our patio, but it was a mess. It was wet and lots of leaves had piled up. It looks like it must have flooded last night. I insisted we go out and I even laid in the wet grass for a while. Scout wasn't pleased about being outside.

The Greyhound Who Evacuated The Campground Last Night
I so glad you guys are alright!! That's scary. I'm glad to know that you have a safe place and plenty of tools to watch the weather. I hope that is the one and only.
ReplyDeleteScary...Drive that RV over to Oregon...our summer weather is nice :D
ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
Glad you guys had the good sense to leave! I was once in an actual tornado when I was 18 and living in a trailer...not an experience I wish to relive! The sky turned this beautiful color and then all hell broke loose! I had no idea about the tornado coming nor did anyone else and cars were smashed, trailers turned over, trees uprooted, very surreal! I hated to read about this one today!! Glad you guys are all safe!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really scary! Glad you were all okay.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sounds pretty scary and dramatic! Mum is such a panicy person and she would have totally freaked out, haha.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were all safe and your RV was okay apart from the leak.
Dip Bridge and Elliot x
Good to know you are all safe from the tornado. We have the occasional small one here, but they are Nothing like you get over the pond.
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly! I would have been a basket case! Whew, you know I heard about some really bad Tornadoes ripping across Texas. Glad you are all in one piece and nothing was damaged. Bummer about your windshield leaking though, hopefully you can get that fixed.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny Joey, getting your tummy all wet in the grass like that! You are a silly boy. :)
Glad you all are okay! I used to live in Cleburne - one of the towns hit with the mile wide tornado. It hit within a few blocks of one of the houses we lived in. Scary!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are all OK! Sounds like a pretty big adventure! Leaking windshields are not good..hopefully that can be fixed.
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteThe party part in the parking garage sounds okay...but the rest is awful!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
